Frequently Asked Questions
Check out some of our frequently asked questions about laundry room appliance repair.
What maintenance can I do to prevent issues with my laundry appliances?
Regularly clean the lint filter in the dryer, check hoses for leaks, and keep the drum clean. For washing machines, consider running a cleaning cycle or using washing machine cleaner to remove residue.
How long do washing machines and dryers typically last?
On average, washing machines last about 10-15 years, while dryers can last 10-12 years. Regular maintenance can help extend their lifespan.
What should I do if my dryer is making a loud noise?
A loud noise could indicate a problem with the drum belt, bearings, or foreign objects caught in the dryer. Stop using it immediately and call a professional to assess the issue.
Why is my washing machine not spinning?
First, check if the dryer is set to the correct cycle. Also, inspect the lint filter and vent for blockages. If everything seems fine and it’s still not heating, it may need repairs, such as a faulty heating element.
How can I tell if my washer or dryer needs repair?
Look for signs such as unusual noises, leaks, failure to start, or poor performance (e.g., clothes not coming out clean or dry). If you notice these issues, it’s a good idea to have it checked.
Is it worth repairing an old washer or dryer?
Consider the age of the appliance and the cost of repairs. If repairs exceed 50% of the replacement cost and the appliance is over 7-10 years old, it may be more economical to buy a new one.

My wife called several companies to help us out with a gas range that had a bad valve the week before a Masters rental. They came the same day, ordered the part and fixed it all in less than 7 days. There tech's were very knowledgeable and professional. We could not be happier with the service

Ok, part Two of appliance repair of only a four year old Kitchenaid Free standing range. Now for the repair: Premier Appliance of Augusta was called on the 17th of May. Appointment made for 18th May, Tom Marshall, owner arrived on time, took a few minutes to determine problem, a non-working dual radiant heating element, ordered part, and told us part would be available sometime early the following week. I checked with Premier, Monday, 22 May. Was told part would arrive to Augusta at 7pm the 23rd, and could have it installed morning of the 24th. Of course! Morning of the 24th repairman Luke arrived within the stated two hour window, proceeded to install the new Heating element. Took all of five minutes. Tested unit before final reassembly, two screws to hold top in place. So let me recap: from date of first call to set up appointment and to final day of repair took Seven Days! That in my opinion is amazing! I called Premier based on the reviews I read. They earned those Five Star ratings. I will add my own Five Star rating. Good job! Recommend!
